Everybody is talking about Google Chrome lately, so I thought of giving it a try myself. Google Chrome is a Google’s open source web browser. I downloaded and installed the software this morning. First impressions that I gather from the look and feel was refreshing. Although, it looks somewhat similar to Firefox 3.0, at least the way you are prompted to save your password for certain websites on the top. But this is all look and feel. How about the backend stuff. Is that any better than other browsers, I have been wondering.
To run a few tests, I open up my options from “Customize and Control Google Chrome”. You can set your homepage by going to tools-> options-> Basics. I was able to import all my bookmarks from IE and Firefix with no problems at all, but the button for bookmarks show up on the right hand side. I guess I will have to get used to that. I ran into Google unresponsive problem while loading gmail. This is the message that I received.
Google Chrome loads pages faster than other browsers. Almost all the sites loaded up instantly. I had issues with some login pages that require java. There were some problems with games when loading flash. It would get stuck and would not load the whole page.
All these problems are not huge and would not stop me from start using Chrome as of today. As for my opinions on what others think about Chrome, there are two groups of people who like or dislike Chrome. Tech savvy people are baised towards G-Chrome and love it. They are waiting for some more updates though. Non techy people are not liking it so much, uninstalled the software and went back to using IE and FF. As far as I am concerned, I am not a techy person, but keep using Chrome alongwith other browsers.
I guess there are some problems that Google needs to sort out with Chrome, with this being their newest software still in beta version and what not. I am pretty sure they are reading all the reviews about G-Chrome and working on it right now, as we talk.

Im a techy person (very techy) and I find it nothing compared to firefox (techy) because it has no techy plugins, only non techy users would use it in my opinion.
I didn’t like it cause I couldn’t manage the favorite and even I couldn’t delete the favorite
I guess, these requirements are cosmetic look of the browser and next update may include these. Backend is much more improved as I read in a certain tech forum. Some expert specialist mentioned that IE should have put those features in their browsers in the first place, and with Chrome coming out, the competition is going to be intense, and as for us consumers we are looking at getting some great, non-crashing browsers because all others are going to improve their backends.
I think Chrome is like a skilled child just like bill gates was in his early ages. As the time passes he was becoming more & more successfull until he was one of the biggest independent enterpenure and maintained his position for more than a decade. Who knows one day Chrome will similarly beat out all the browsers in the market. Till then enjoy with your favourite browser.
Also FF before becoming popular than IE was a very tiny browser. If FF can beat IE then Chrome can also beat FF.
Good analogy. I agree. I say, we give them more time and see what they come up with.
