List of free web directories to submit links

Popular question I come across is “Is it a good idea to submit my website to web directories? Is it beneficial?” I have pondered over this and have experimented with some of my sites. The results showed that not all directories I submitted my sites to were useful. If I submit to few authority sites in my niche, I may benefit a lot in the future.
