Holiday Season is upon us, that means huge sales are ongoing. What better time to take  advantage of those 75% off the stilettos I had been drooling over for sometime

But, before starting our shopping spree, we hopped on my computer and looked for sales and bargain deals in my area. This has become a normal habit for me to check for the lowest prices, or wait for sometime, before I go for “impulse” shopping. I guess, unknowingly we are all strapping for recession blues, these economists keep talking about.

That had me wondering, if people wait for sales or look for coupons, before they make high priced purchases. I asked my cousin, she said, yes. She has been trying to save up and then spend frugally. She has become couponing expert, and ends up saving significant amount by the end of the month.

If yes, then you too need a plugin that automatically inserts links in your posts.

While doing my research, I came across WordPress Amazon Associate PlugIn that does the job for you. It allows you to easily insert links and Amazon widgets with your associate ID into your posts and sidebar of your blog. You can even insert links and images in individual blog posts.

Here is how it works.

Note: This is for WordPress blogs, I do not know if something similar is available for Blogger.

• Login to Your Amazon Associates account, assuming you already have one. If you do not have an account, you can join Amazon Associates and apply for one;

• Sign up for Amazon Web Services (AWS);

• Once you are signed up, click on “Manage Your Account” or Security Credentials;

• Click on Access Credentials, you will see your unique “Access Key” and Show for “Security Key”;

• Go to Show to access your Security Key;

• Now, you have the two values you are required to fill in the WordPress-Amazon-Associate PlugIn

• Over to your blog now,

• Install the WordPress-Amazon-Associate plugin to your WordPress blog. Once activated, it will show up in your left menu sidebar.

• Click on Settings, and add your Associate Tag. If you are in North America, it should have 20 at the end of your Associate Tag

• Next you have to fill Amazon Web Services Settings. This is where you have to fill in the Access Key and Security Key, the values we obtained from Amazon Web Services after loggin into Amazon Associates Account. Click on “Update Settings”. Once you insert the correct values, they will be verified for validation.

• That’s it. You are ready to insert Amazon Text and Widgets in your blog postings.

• You will see an additional tag in your editor. In your widgets area, you will see additional options to add Amazon Widgets.

So, go ahead. Add those Amazon Text Links and Amazon Widgets. Do not leave any money on the table!

Fortunately, these sites were fairly new and I could experiment to make sure they would not get affected further. I read some tips online and found some really good resources.

Most important tip was I got from seo-hacker. Sean Si posted vital information about what to do if your money making, high quality blog was affected by Panda Update. Here is link to Webmaster Central in his post that directs webmasters to inform Google if they think they got an unjust cut.

Some more changes you can make to your blog:

Regular Updates. Keep adding high quality contents to your website. When you are updating your blog regularly, it shows that you are interested in giving useful contents to your visitors. Search Engines like that.

Interlinking Your Posts. Make sure to interlink your posts. It adds authority to your websites. There are many plugins available that you can install and link your pages easily. InSight is one such powerful plugin for WordPress that allows you to quickly access and insert information like links, images, videos, maps etc into your blog posts.

Avoid Duplicate or Spun Contents. Google gives high priority to quality. I am not really sure about the ratio of duplicate content to unique content but it may result in Google seeing a set of pages as duplicate since the Panda update. Lets say, it’s 50% duplicate content to 50% unique content is the tipping point? Your opinions, please?

Backlinks from Quality Websites. Make sure to make genuine comments on other blogs, get backlinks from high quality websites, with high pagerank.

All you need is time. And if you have some money to invest in your business you don’t even need time, because you can outsource the article writing. However, it is hard to outsource something that you have not at least tried to do yourself. So do-it-yourself article marketing is highly recommended in the beginning. It ican be pretty simple as you find out eventually.

If you want to do article marketing the easiest way, you can get a hold of some PLR (private label rights) articles that are relevant to your site and edit or rewrite them. The point about PLR is that it gives you the right to edit it however you want and then use it as your own.

Good quality PLR adds value to a website. It is much easier to rewrite because it will contain plenty of ideas. You should not need to do any research if you are working from a basis of good quality articles.

Often times, all you have to do to edit the best PLR is to delete a few words or phrases through the article. Many PLR articles are longer than you need. So even if you are not a good writer, you can create something that will be unique in the eyes of the search engines by cutting out a couple of words from each sentence.

PLR articles cannot be submitted to big article directories like EzineArticles.com if they have been edited this way. You have to completely rewrite them in that case. This is a very important point. EzineArticles will not accept PLR in any form and they might ban you if you try it. They want unique articles that contain original ideas. So you do need to put in more work for them.

The other thing you need to know with many of the better known article directories is that you cannot submit articles that contain affiliate links. You have to link to your own site. This means you need a website or blog.

You can still do it for free by linking to a Blogger blog, Squidoo lens or other similar free site. Just be aware that they have their own rules that you need to understand and keep to. Also, they could change their rules at any time and your blog or page could be toast.
