Tomorrow, 4th November will decide the fate of US. New US Commander-in-Chief will be elected after tomorrow’s election. Next thing that comes to my mind is, what will be the headlines in the newspapers, online editorials and blogs tuesday onwards. It has been an exciting and anxious ride for all the people, let alone the presidential candidates. National TVs programs were all the more exciting. Watching Vice presidentail and presidential candidates making fun of themselves was fun to watch. NBC’s SNL had the highest viewership since many years on the episode where Sarah Palin appeared. She even beat the one with John McCain in it.

Presidential and vice presidential debates brought along so many discussions and arguments on the forums and discussion boards. Not too long ago, pranks were played on Sarah Palin bringing her in news again. John McCain performed really well in SNL. Big endorsements for either candidates. Blaming one another for negative campaigning and wrong associations. Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Jon McCain and Sarah Palin dolls in the market. And many many more events occurred during this election.

This will be one historical election that won’t be forgotten very easily for the years to come. So yeah, I am going to miss reading the headlines in the blogs tomorrow onwards, and everyone will be back to normal life.

NBC marked the premiere of new Saturday Night Live season on Saturday. I have always enjoyed Tina Fey’s and Amy Poehler’s weekend updates. They returned to their old show as Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton respectively. Fey’s bespectacled persona displays a striking resemblance between her and Sarah Palin. This season’s premiere has been marked as the best season premiere since 2001.

Some of the most hilarious moments:

Amy Pohler as Hillary Clinton is talking about the foreign policies clearly displaying how much more experienced than Sarah Palin she is. To which Tina’s Sarah’s response is – I can see Russia from my house in Alaska.

Amy’s Clinton talks about how she disagrees with Bush Doctorine. Tina’s Palin gasps; she doesn’t know what that means.

One of Amy’s Clinton’s remarks – I did not want a woman to be the president of the United States; I wanted to be the president of the United States.

Michael Phelps, Olympic Swimming Champion, hosted the show. He said that this was the ninth best moment of his life. Obama was supposed to make a short appearance on the SNL but he cancelled Saturday morning because of the seriousness of the hurricane Ike.

Did you watch Saturday Night Live? What did you think about it? Feel free to share.
