NBC marked the premiere of new Saturday Night Live season on Saturday. I have always enjoyed Tina Fey’s and Amy Poehler’s weekend updates. They returned to their old show as Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton respectively. Fey’s bespectacled persona displays a striking resemblance between her and Sarah Palin. This season’s premiere has been marked as the best season premiere since 2001.

Some of the most hilarious moments:

Amy Pohler as Hillary Clinton is talking about the foreign policies clearly displaying how much more experienced than Sarah Palin she is. To which Tina’s Sarah’s response is – I can see Russia from my house in Alaska.

Amy’s Clinton talks about how she disagrees with Bush Doctorine. Tina’s Palin gasps; she doesn’t know what that means.

One of Amy’s Clinton’s remarks – I did not want a woman to be the president of the United States; I wanted to be the president of the United States.

Michael Phelps, Olympic Swimming Champion, hosted the show. He said that this was the ninth best moment of his life. Obama was supposed to make a short appearance on the SNL but he cancelled Saturday morning because of the seriousness of the hurricane Ike.

Did you watch Saturday Night Live? What did you think about it? Feel free to share.
